Passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 84.
She will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to know her. Esther cherished her family and leaves behind a lifetime of love and fond memories. Our dear, sweet Esther may be gone, but her light will shine on in the hearts of generations to come.
Esther was proudly Métis and a member of the Métis Nation of Ontario. While her culture was stolen from her, she courageously took it back and rejoiced in learning about her ancestors and history. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association.
Esther was the beloved wife of the late Donald Dodd for 54 years. Loving mother of the late Jeffery, Lisa Kisch (John Lee), the late Barry (Christine), Donna Dodd MacDonald (Allan), and Shelly Cardoso (Joe). Beloved grandmother of Amanda, Sarah, Julie, and Emily Kisch and Ryan Campbell, Melissa, Timothy, Brian and Codey Dodd, Colin and Stephen MacDonald, Jeffery and Andrea Cardoso, and their partners/spouses. Proud great grandmother of 16. Dear sister of the late Stanley Jeffery (the late Pat), the late Arleen Steinke (the late Jack), and the late Roberta Jeffery. Sister-in-law of the late Shirlely Belkosky (late Raymond), Diana Findlay (Wilfred), Alan Dodd (Maureen), and Linda McLeish (Richard). Loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Cremation and a private family memorial service have already taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522).
