It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Drouin, a beloved husband, father, and Papa, who left us on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of 66, surrounded by his loving family at the Sault Area Hospital.

Dan was the cherished husband and best friend of Kim, with whom he shared 36 beautiful years of marriage. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Dayna (Vincent Scornaienchi), and an adoring Papa to his precious granddaughter Luciana, whom he lovingly called “Lulu.” He took immense joy in spending time with Lulu and sharing countless memories with his family that he held close to his heart. His family was the joy of his life.

Dan was the beloved son of the late Gedeon and Lucille Drouin, and son-in-law to the late Maxwell and Marlyn Reinhardt. Brother to Henrietta Calam (Jack), Henry (Regine), Ron (Anna), and Larry (Susan), with whom he fondly looked back on childhood memories. Brother-in-law to Joe Reinhardt (late Brenda), the late Linda Rivers (John), Barbara Reinhardt, Karen Gilbert (Steve), Ruth Romanchuk (Ben), Cindy Reinhardt-Pyette (Allan), Mark Reinhardt (Sonya), and the late Peter Reinhardt. Dan will be missed dearly by his nieces and nephews. Special “Uncle Danny” to his niece Sarah Reinhardt.

Dan found happiness in simple pleasures, like taking his family fishing every summer on his pontoon boat, creating memories that will be treasured forever. A loyal Montreal Canadiens fan, never missing Hockey Night in Canada and a chance to cheer (yell) at the TV in French. He loved sharing stories of his adventures and reminiscing with family and friends, his laughter and warmth bringing comfort and joy to those around him.

Dan was a man of quiet strength, kindness, and boundless generosity, always ready to lend a hand or fix whatever was needed. Known as the “Mr. Fix-it” in his family, he approached everything with patience, skill, and a dedication that left an enduring impact on all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, kindness and devotion will continue to inspire those he held close. A meticulous perfectionist in the best way.

Taken from us far too soon, Dan had so much more life to live. His gentle spirit and warm heart have left a void that cannot be filled, and his family and friends will forever cherish the time they had with him. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to those who offered support and kindness over the last few difficult years, as well as to the ICU staff at Sault Area Hospital and the team at Extendicare Maple View for their compassionate care.

“We’ll miss you forever. The time we had will never be enough. We love you three.”

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
