EDWARDS, A.F. (Bert)

1923 - 2005. Passed away peacefully at home in Kitchener, on Saturday, August 13, 2005, his grandson Doug by his side and his family all around him. Husband and life partner of Ruby Edwards for 61 years. The love and strength they share, will continue in the countless lives they have touched. Father and hero to his daughter Pat and her husband Fred of Montreal and his son Mike and Donna of Kitchener. Pat and Mike have never known a better man than their dad. Loving grandfather to Kim, Sandy, Doug, Scott and Jeff. He was always there to love and support. Very proud great grandpa to Mitchell and Emma, Jayden and Jack, Dayna and Nathanial. Brother of Mary, Margaret, Erlyne, Joan, Sharon, Harold, Chester, Don and Floyd. Sadly missed by his many, many, nieces and nephews and their spouses. Predeceased by his parents George and Ada of Sault Ste. Marie and sister Gladys. Bert served for over 40 years with the United Steelworkers of America and was past president of the Metropolitan Toronto Children's Aid Society. In his ministry as Pastor in the Community of Christ, Bert was an inspiration and advisor to countless numbers of people. As per Bert's request a private family service will be held at Elgin Mills Cemetery. In celebration of Bert's life , a memorial service will be held at the Community of Christ, 10 Eppleworth Road, Scarborough, Ontario on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 2:00 pm. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada and can be arranged by contacting the Edward R.
