Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital ICU, surrounded by his family on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the age of 78.
Loving husband of Carol (nee Hurley) for over 51 years. Predeceased by his parents Archie and Alice Findlay, and by his in laws Calvin and Arvella Hurley. Dear brother of the late Stan (Janet), late Joe (Clarinda), Betty Findlay, and Jill Nicholson (Jack); brother in law of late Lorna Guise (Danny) and Wesley Hurley. Jim was a loving Uncle, Great-Uncle, and Great-Great Uncle of many. Special Uncle and friend of Bruce.
Jim belonged to the Echo Bay Elks. He worked construction for years with Ellwood Robinson (Carillion Construction on the 4 lanes). He was a Road Superintendent for the MacDonald Township and retired 18 years ago.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Echo Bay Elks Lodge at a later date. Spring Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to Echo Bay Elks Lodge 535 or the Echo Bay United Church would be appreciated.
