Passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice with daughter Becky and niece Lori (kept our promise and held his hand as he took his last breath), sister Robyn, and BFF Michelle, by his side on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the age of 78.
Beloved husband of the late Rose Fischer and father of the late Robert John Ernest Fischer Jr. Cherished father of Becky Ebare, father-in-law and best friend of Dan. Proud Papa of Johnny and Kyle (Erica), Great Papa of Asher, Archer Ebare, Ashley (Nathan) and Great Papa Jury. Uncle of Lori St. Croix (Russ Ireland) and Fanny (and the London Gang). Ernie will be missed by Becky's sister Robyn Hunter (Jeff), Michelle Lesage (Robert), his friend of many years Lorne, and his furry companion Princess. Special thanks to Mike for his helpful care and compassion, and the staff of ARCH. His passions in life were his couch and TV, he loved his pasta, his interest in old classic cars and his first love Loretta Lynn and the oldies. His number one passion in life was his grandson Kyle, from the day he was born and his wood cutting helper Johnny. Not to mention his love for women (Babe). At Ernie's request cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. Memorial contributions to the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
