(1923 - 2019) RN PHN - Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the age of 96.
Dear wife of the late Jo Forman. Loving mother of Jan Boyer (Dave) and Murray Forman (Zamawa). Special and cherished grandmother of Shawn Mills (Natalie) and Bayla Metzger (Matt Grant). New great grandmother of Noah Mills. A stoic daughter of the prairies (Saskatchewan), Joyce spent the majority of her life and nursing career in Sault Ste. Marie where she worked as a public health nurse with the Algoma Public Health Unit, until her retirement. She received the Dr. William Hutchinson award for distinguished contribution to health services in Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma in 1988. She was involved in many community activities and organizations, one being the Maycourt Club, in which she served as National President for the Maycourt Club of Canada. She will be missed by many dear friends and former colleagues.
Friends and family may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. Funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque) to ARCH or Women In Crisis would be appreciated. A special thank you to Claudette Stoddart, who was such a good friend and neighbour for so many years. The family would like to thank the staff at Collegiate Heights and Extendicare Maple View (especially Debbie and Vicky) for the care during her time at both places. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ali Ibrahim and Stacey and Brandon in the Sault Area Hospital Emergency Dept. for their caring and compassion when we needed it the most.
