We sorrowfully announce the sudden passing of (Margaret) May Fournier in the early morning hours of Monday, April 12, 2021 in the SAH Emergency.  Her beloved daughter Barbara Fournier was constant by her side.  May had celebrated her 100th birthday on September 1, 2020.

Predeceased by her dearest son Michael Fournier, parents William and Blanche Jeffrey, brothers William Jr., Harold Jeffrey and sisters Beatrice Jeffrey and Dorothy Johnston (Fred). Grandmother of Susan (David) Marriott of Kilsyth, Ontario.  Beloved aunt of the late Jeffrey MacColl (Judy) and great aunt of Beth MacColl Huss (Phil) of Florida.

May engaged in a dedicated career in secondary school system sharing her love of languages with her thousands of students with diligence, energy, sincerity. She influenced the lives greatly of many with her desire to help expand their learning experience to take with them for life.  Her courage, work ethic, high standards, integrity, imagination and dignity of character were most obvious in her work and private life, a positive role model just by her nature.

Cremation has taken place, inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery and a celebration of Margaret's life will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations made to Sault Ste Marie Public Library would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522).  Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
