After a tenacious fight supported by her beloved family and friends, Maria passed peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Sunday, May 5, 2019 in her 43rd year. Predeceased by her mother Nella Francella (1986). Cherished granddaughter of Rosina and the late Michele Maione. Survived by her brother Joey (Jen) and their children David, Evan and Nella. Maria will be remembered by many cousins, and aunts and uncles, for whom she cared deeply. Anybody who knew Maria, was entertained by her many stories about her cats (her "fur children") that gave her much joy, comfort and peace in some of her most difficult times. Maria was a dedicated teacher who delighted in guiding her students in to becoming enlightened, educated contributors to our community. Family and Friends are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4 pm to 7:30 pm. Words of remembrance to be shared in the chapel at 8 pm. Maria will be laid to rest with her mother Nella at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
