It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Fortunata Gallo at her home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

Fortunata is now reunited with her husband the late Santo Gallo.  She was a special mother who loved her family dearly and will fondly be remembered and cherished by her precious son Stefano (Roxanne) of Sudbury.

Stefano was her heart and soul, her rock who she wanted every dream and wish he had not only come true but also lead to an amazing future.  She knew no matter how far he was, he would always stay connected to her heart.  A smile would light up her face from cheek to cheek each time her baby boy would visit and was so proud of all his accomplishments.  Her life was magical because of Stefano and she loved him dearly.

Fortunata was the much loved daughter of the late Anna Guercio-Serrao and the late Gasparo Serrao.  She will be the remembered forever sister of Foca Serrao (late Fortunata), Raffaela Serrao (Emilia), Vincenzo Serrao of Nocera Terinese and the late Gasparo Serrao (Luigina).  She will also be fondly remembered by many extended family members in Italy.

Fortunata will be missed by her grandchildren Jorden, Mercedes, step grandchildren Melanie, Tiffany and Tyler, step great grandson Emitt and remembered by her many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Fortunata was an amazing cook who took pleasure making sure that everyone had the opportunity to taste her scrumptious sponge cake made from scratch, delicious foods and was sure you never left her home empty handed.  Her gifted eye for gardening was looked at with envy as she had the most incredible green thumb and a garden that produced the biggest and juiciest vegetables.

Special thank you to Dr. Shafiee and the dialysis team at Sault Area Hospital who Fortunata spoke very highly of.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions by cheque or online to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Renal Dialysis Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).  Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave a message of condolence or a memory as a keepsake for Fortunata's family.
