Calvin Edgar Gartshore (September 20, 1919 - April 13, 2002). It is with deep sadness that the family announces the death of Ed Gartshore, husband of Katherine Olivia. Katherine and Ed met in music school in Chicago and were married for 59 years. Son of the late Cal and Candace Gartshore and brother of Donalda Price (late Roy), Doreen Butcher (late John) and the late Dorothy Merrett (late Stan). Ed and Katherine have three children. Tony (Mary Ellen), Leo (Patty), and Donalda (Allan). Grandfather of eleven and great grandfather of four. Ed was a musical mentor and inspiration to many young musicians and was the founder of the Algoma Music Camp. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road, 945-7758 on Sunday, April 21 from 2:00 p.m. until time of the memorial service in the chapel at 4:00 p.m. with Mrs. Janet Norman officiating. Charitable donation to Algoma Music Camp in Ed's memory would be appreciated by the family.
