With heavy hearts we must say goodbye to James in his 84th year, on October 4th, 2021 surrounded by his family at Algoma Residential Community Hospice. James leaves behind the love of his life Jackie. Adoring father of Jeannine (Jamie) and Karen. Proud grandfather of Brittany Olendy (Mark), Kaylan Gagnon and McKenna Barbour (Kaleb). Son of the late Douglas James Gemmel and Marie Hermance Leclerc. Son-in-law to the late Rene and Wilma Audette. Brother of Richard Gemmel. Brother-in-law to Jeannine Johnson and Ron Johnson (Sandy). Uncle of Steve Johnson (Fran), and Terry Johnson (Carol) and their families.
We would like to thank A.R.C.H. and the S.A.H. for their palliative care during his final days, they were exceptional. Our family would also like to thank Dr. Buehner, Dr. Singh and Dr. Fratesi for their professionalism and compassion. Robin and Tammy you did a wonderful job with his homecare; he adored how gentle you were with him.
A private memorial service and cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
