Guido, was a charming and charismatic man, arriving to Canada from his beloved Italy in 1955, with this help of his cherished sister Yole & Joseph, he started to make his life here is Sault Ste. Marie. He met his loving wife Dolores in 1958 and married in 1960. Guido was hired at Algoma Steel and worked his way up to Forman, he enjoyed that place and retired after 35 years of service. He was passionate about his family and enjoyed his time with his four sons, he loved each one of us equally and longed for us to be together. He would always ask each of us the same question even if he saw or knew you called a day or a week ago "Where you been?" He loved to get together with family and friends and always loved to see people having a good time in his company. Dad was an excellent cook, making sauce, meatballs, and enjoyed making wine and salami. He was a member of the Marconi Society for 65 years and was an avid bocce player and excellent bowler in the Algoma Steel Leagues. He loved playing cards, but he was easily excited when he was on the losing end!

Dad was a regular at Krazy. Ernie’s, buying his scratch tickets there and loved the owners, he was also a regular at the Station Mall, and enjoyed going there and hanging out with his chums and always getting the boys to through in $5 to buy those scratch tickets. He was passionate about sports especially Formula 1 Team Ferrari, he watched Boxing, Big Time Wrestling and his beloved Blue Jays. Guido was proud of his Italian Heritage, when watching sports, if an athlete had an Italian last name, he/she was #1 in his books. He managed to travel to Italy 20 times in his retirement and last year, through absolute determination he was able to visit one last time. Dad, we love you beyond the sun, moon and stars and thank you for being our G.O.A.T. To our extended family, friends and neighbors, the Gentile Family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts and extends our Love & Respect.
