It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Peter Glibota on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Sault Area Hospital.  With family by his side, he passed away peacefully at the age of 88.

Loving husband and best friend of his beautiful wife Agnes for 59 years.  Proud father of Debbie Salomon (Jerry), Peter Jr. (Lydia), and absolutely the proudest grandpa to Sierra Salomon and Ava and Isabella Glibota.  Beloved son of the late Peter and late Katherine Glibota and son-in-law to the late George and late Sophia Barich.  Brother of the late Matthew, late Dina Shepherd (late Frank), late Andy (Madeline, late Theone), Violet, Doreen Taylor (late Harold). Brother-in-law of the late PJ Barich (late Betty), Mary Ault (late Ronald), late Helen Barich, late Ann Rushon (late Allan), late Fred Barich (Virginia), late George Barich (Barbara), Rudy Barich (Jill).  Close cousin to the late Mary Falkins (Bob) and Roseanne Vance (Steve).  He will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

He captured the hearts of many.  He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, brother and friend who would always lend a helping hand or advice to others.  He loved to talk, encourage others and would find something in common with every person he met.  After retiring from over 40+ years at Algoma Steel, he loved to spend extra time at camp.  He enjoyed fishing, league bowling and watching all sports.  He loved his family and many friends very much, but most of all he had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed.
All are welcome to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Afterwards, due to pandemic restrictions a private family service will be held. Memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen would be appreciated. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, and all staff at the Sault Area Hospital, especially those in 2A and 3B.  Your care, patience, and compassion will never be forgotten.

It is very comforting to know that the love we keep in our hearts and the
great memories we have will be with us forever.
