May 24, 1927 to December 19, 2021

The world lost an amazing soul on Sunday, December 19, 2021.  A man who when asked how he was doing answered with “it is the greatest day of my life”.  When people asked why, and they always did, he said, “because yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not here so it’s the only day I’ve got”.  This positive attitude is the way he lived all 94 years of his life.  He was a self-made man who had an esteemed career as a manager with London Life and was recognized by the Premier of Ontario for his over 10 years of volunteer work with people with disabilities.  A mentor and inspiration to so many and will be truly missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years Estelle.  Loving father to daughter Cathy Grant-McDowell, son-in-law Gord, and son David Grant.  Caring grandfather to Matthew (Youra), Jon, Nick and Taylor.  Proud Great Grandfather to Jackson, Isabella and Avery.  Survived by his sister Jean.

Special thanks to the caring staff at Collegiate Heights which he called home for the last 6 years.  Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.   A private celebration of life will take place in the Spring of 2022.  Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Grant family.
