Passed away peacefully at the Extendicare Maple View Nursing Home on Monday, August 26, 2024 in his 89th year. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Margaret Rose Groen (nee Jones). Loving father of Patrick (Violet) and Michael. Predeceased by his parents and siblings.
Dutchy had a zest for life and always met its challenges head on. His most prized possessions were his family and friends, the many students he taught over the years at Alexander Henry High School and everything flowers. He enjoyed curling, hunting and fishing, wine and sausage making, cooking and his Sault Ste. Marie Greyhound games.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Tkachyk and her team on Tunnel Lake of Extendicare Maple View for going above and beyond with his care.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Maple View Resident Council or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
