Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Marjorie (nee Cornish) Hamilton and her brother Donald. Born in the farming community of Dorchester, ON Leone went on to pursue a teaching degree. She is remembered by colleagues and the students who passed through her History classes at Bawating High School where she served as Department Head; fellow volunteers at the Sault Area Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie Museum, Algoma Presbytery of The United Church of Canada, and the pastoral visiting team at Emmanuel United Church. Leone had a passion for young people and helping them to reach their goals. In retirement she continued to enjoy reading, and exploring the globe. Friends are invited to gather at Emmanuel United Church (224 Bennett Blvd.) on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. A memorial service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating. A reception will follow the service. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque) to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
