Norma Frances (Genge) Hargreaves died peacefully in Kingston, Ontario on June 25, 2023.
The steadfast light and warm heart of her family, Norma was also a respected Registered Nurse and volunteer, and a much-loved friend. Born in Smiths Falls, Ontario on September 19, 1933, Norma grew up in Westport, Ontario. Her beloved husband of 60 years, J.W. Douglas Hargreaves, a native son of Sault Ste. Marie, predeceased her in 2016.
Norma is survived by her daughters Vicki, Gayle (Peter Muir), and Lynn Hargreaves; cherished grandsons Jeremiah (Hannah Peck) and Eli Bach (Ginny Kozemczak), their father Michael Bach, Alexander (Li Xiaowei - Vivienne) and Peter Gordon Muir; great grandchildren Evan, Chloe and Marcus Muir; sister-in-law Judy Hargreaves (the late C. Ward Hargreaves); and a large extended family. Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Westport, Ontario on July 29. Details will be announced at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society, or charity of your choice, in care of James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, Ontario K7M 7H3.
