94, wife of the late Dr. Ross H. Hamilton (1981), died Monday morning, July 18, 2005, at Treyburn Health Care Center, Durham, NC. Mrs. Hamilton was born and raised in Parkinson Twp., Ontario, Canada. She graduated from Toronto Western Hospital School of Nursing in 1933. She moved with her husband and two children to the United States in 1952, first settling in southwest Virginia and then in North Carolina. Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her children, Robert R. Hamilton and wife, Susan, of Pigeon, Michigan and Janice Howe and husband, John, of Durham; grandchildren, Kara Hamilton-Nelson of Miami, FLA, Mary McNinch, James Hamilton and Scott Hamilton, all of Arizona, Patrick Frank of Norfolk, VA, Richard McNinch of Indiana, Eric Howe and Zachary Howe of Durham and a very special grandson, Seth Howe of Raleigh, who was her advocate and caregiver for almost a year; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Reed and Martha Marshall of Iron Bridge, Ontario, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, William and Maggie Brown McAulay, a brother, Raymond McAulay and a sister, Evelyn Berry, all of Canada. Arrangements are through Clements Funeral Service, Inc. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Canada.
