At Bluewater Health – Mitton St., on Friday, April 30, 2004. Martin Vincent Hemstreet, age 91 of Sarnia. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Gleason). Dear father of Anne Wilson and husband Tom, Sault Ste. Marie, Maureen Vergunst and husband Terry, Camlachie, Mike Hemstreet and wife Kathy, Sarnia, Pat Hemstreet and wife Laurie, Sarnia, Mary McCormick and husband Bob, Camlachie, Susan Livingston and husband Rob, Forest, and the late Thomas Hemstreet (1991). Loving grandfather of Joseph and Derek Wilson, Jocelyn and Brian Vergunst, Natasha and Erica Hemstreet, Chris, Brent and Miranda Hemstreet, Josh, Dylan and Cody McCormick and Emma Livingston. Also survived by his favourite sister Ruth Brown, Sarnia. Brother-in-law of Teresa, Jean and Catherine Hemstreet. Predeceased by parents Charles and Christina Hemstreet and brothers Francis, Jack and Bert. Martin served with the R.C.A.F. during W.W.II and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the 403 Wing and a founding member of St. Benedict’s Parish. He retired from C.N.R. in 1978 after over 35 years service. Visitation at the McKenzie and Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia Monday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 4, 2004 at St. Benedict’s Church. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
