(May 30, 1937 – February 9, 2018) It is with profound sadness that his family announces the passing of this kind and gentle man at Sault Area Hospital after a fierce fight against many complex medical issues. Proud father of Kathleen, Colleen, Chris and Carolyn; grandfather of Lindsay and Christian.  Loving husband and best friend for over 42 years of Dona (nee Chandler).  Predeceased by his parents Ethel and Andrew Hepburn.  With no family of his own in the area, Andy was readily accepted into Dona’s extended family, and over the years enjoyed the love of her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He had a close and special relationship with his late in-laws Audrey and George Chandler.  Andy is also survived by furry companions Obie and Norbert.

For many years Andy was a respected professor of psychology at Algoma University and, in addition, operated a private practice specializing in medical and health psychology.   But in many ways his proudest accomplishment was building, re-building and constantly renovating his beloved camp at Havilland Bay.  Although he had a full life, he still had many unfinished items on his bucket list, and he would encourage everyone to live each day to its fullest.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Prince Township in the spring. In keeping with Andy’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, Sault Ste. Marie, ON 705-759-2522).
