Clifford Earl Hill, age 81 years, went peacefully home to be with his Lord, with family by his side. He was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie and was recently a resident of Thunder Bay.
He is survived by his wife Joan (nee Gordon); children Timothy (Denise) and Kimberley; grandchildren Julia and Nicholas; siblings Marjorie and Doreen (Bud). Clifford was the son of the late Earl and Maude Hill of Sault Ste. Marie. He was predeceased by siblings Louise and Fred (Christine) and his son Stephen.
Clifford’s great passion was for the outdoors, and he could be found most often at his cottage on St. Joseph’s Island. He worked as a clerk with Algoma Steel from his teens until his retirement in 2001.
Funeral Services for Clifford will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre in Thunder Bay officiated by David Booth. Visitation will begin one hour prior. The service will be livestreamed and archived at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well. Proof of vaccination will not be required but wearing masks and social distancing will be observed.
Internment will take place on January 6, 2022 at 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery in Sault Ste Marie. Family and friends are invited to meet at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel (27 Fourth Line E.) at 10:50 am (Masks and social distancing are required). A brief Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the Gospel Hall on Wellington St. East.
