May 4, 1948 -July 12,2021

It is with broken hearts and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of our mother/grandmother/aunt Paulene at the Sault Area Hospital on July 12, 2021, with her loving husband Andy at her side.

Daughter of the late Francais and Jackeline Macdonald, sister of Bernice Mick (Al).

Loving mother of Doug (Lisa), Tara (Chris), Sheldon (Ashley), and Ryan (Dawn). Grandma to Taylor (Jonny), Austin (Alexis), Alana, Cody (Megan), Kristen, Liberty, Justin, Nathan, Layla, and great grandmother to many special grandkids.

Best friend of Enid Geddes and the late Jackie Weiss.

Our special mother loved her entire family and friends alike. She treated everyone as one of her own.

It would be wrong to say that Paulene lost her battle with cancer. No matter how sick she was. She was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Paulene stayed strong. Through her, we now understand what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. There was no quit in Paulene. Just because she is no longer here, does not mean she lost her fight. In our book of life our mother Paulene is not just another chapter, nor page. She is the front cover.

We also would like to send out a special thank you to Dr. Andrew Pierce (Sudbury Cancer Clinic) and to the special nurses at SAH, Floor 3B; Allysa, Tamara, Bailey, Kelly and Bayshore nurse Amy Shoust for her care and exceptional friendship.

At her request there well be no funeral. A Celebration of Life will follow.

If you wish to make donations, they can be made to ARCH locally or Health Sciences North cancer clinic (Sudbury) for the truly outstanding work they do (payable online or by cheque).

Visit the O’Sullivan Funeral Home website to leave condolences for the family. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
