Suddenly at the Sault Area Hospital with her son Wayne by her side on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the age of 82.
Beloved wife of the late John Hnatchuk. Loving mother of Wayne (Wendy) Hnatchuk and the late James Warren Hnatchuk. Proud and loving grandma of Daniel Hnatchuk (Christine) and great grandma of sweet Alexander. Daughter of the late Eva and Lawrence Pateman.
Dear sister of George Pateman (Patricia), Tom Pateman (Jacquey), Carol Sawchyn, Larry Pateman (Bunny), and Bill Pateman (Jayne), and sister-in-law of Zena Faux (late Kenneth). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who were so precious to Lorraine.
Lorraine loved family gatherings, music and reading, and was proud of her Cockburn Island roots. She
enjoyed the little things in life that we often realize later were the biggest things. She was generous and kind and showed her love in her baking, quilting and knitting for others.
Lorraine was a past member of the Eastern Star - Nokomis Chapter and St. Paul's Presbyterian Church.
There will be a private family graveside service in Greenwood Cemetery later this week. A celebration of Lorraine's life will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Sault Area Hospital foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Many thanks to Dr. Boseovski and the rest of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Emergency unit of the Sault Area Hospital. The family is especially grateful to Lanaya and Reade for their compassion and support. Thanks also to Dr. Oliver and Misti and to the staff of Great Northern Retirement home for their excellent support of Lorraine.
Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Hnatchuk family.
