Sir Kenneth Hocken, a Knight of French National Legion of Honour passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice at the age of 94. Ken was the devoted husband of his wife Dora for 66 years. He was a loving and caring father to Tom (Debbie), Deborah Kalinowski (Rick), Heather Nisbett (Jim), Terry (Heather), Eunice Ndebele and predeceased by Clifford “Kip” (Lori Hurley and her husband David), Allan Loon (Jane) and Morley Loon. Beloved grandfather of 20 and great grandfather of 27 and great great grandfather of 3. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Ken was Knighted for his service to France during the battles of Normandy and served in Holland in the Scheldt. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service to be held at Emmaus Anglican Church (formally St. Matthew’s Church 1643 Wellington Street East) on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11 am. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 25, SAH Foundation, ARCH or Emmaus Anglican Church.
