The Family announces with great sorrow the passing of Giovanna Iachetta at Glendale Crossing, London Ontario, on Sunday July 9th, 2023 at the age of 85. Cherished and beloved mother of late Giovanni, Santino (Jeannie), Bellarosa, late Gino (twin), Gino, and Frank (Angie). Giovanna will be sadly missed by her many siblings, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her many friends in Sault Ste. Marie, Ottawa, and London. Giovanna was born in Italy on January 7th, 1938, daughter of the late Francisco and Francesca Guzzo Bonifacio. She immigrated to Canada with three young children in 1967 and settled in the town of Sault Ste Marie. Giovanna was an exceptional cook, had much wisdom, courage and strength, and the love and dedication she gifted to her family had no limits!
Many thanks to the Dr’s, caring Nursing staff, PSW’s, Allied staff, and loving residents (and their family members) of Glendale Crossing who loved her dearly and went above and beyond to make our mom feel at home and so loved in her final years.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. – 705-759-2522) on Friday, July 14th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service in the Chapel on Saturday July 15th at 11:00 am. Rev. Trevor Scarfone officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Sault Ste. Marie.
