With heavy hearts and great sorrow, the family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Arden on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in his 90th year.  

Loving husband to the late Keitha (nee Lawrence), much loved father to Tammy, Heather, Terry (Debbie), and Sandy (Clair Campbell), and loving companion to Judy Connell for 24 years. Papa to Ashleigh (Mark Cairns), Sean, Kaitlyn and Andrew.  Great Grandfather to Aiden and Jaxon. Son of the late Albert Irwin and Sarah Jane Irwin (nee See). Survived by brother Gary (Patricia) of Pittsburgh, PA.  Predeceased by brothers Cal, John (late Sue), Bruce, and sister Joan Rumley (late Roy). Brother-in-law to Thelma Allen (late Dean). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special Papa to Daniel, Katherine, Michael, Katie, Sophie and Olivia.   

Arden was born in Hilton Beach, Ontario on March 25,1932, with a life long motto of  “say yes to everything”.  Arden went from Steelmaker to Maple Syrup Producer to Land Developer.  His greatest love, other than his family, was St. Joseph Island where he enjoyed ships, sunsets and annual parties, all from his cottage deck. One of Arden’s greatest pleasures was meeting people and cherishing his many friendships.  Arden was an enthusiastic sportsman, with a love for softball, hockey and golf.  He was an avid hunter, angler and winemaker. Arden loved to travel, with one of his more memorable vacations being an Alaskan cruise. Arden was an extraordinary man who led an extraordinary life.   

A private service will be held with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date. Friends are invited to view the service online on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 2 pm.
