It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leo Jacques on September 2nd, 2022. Born September 16th, 1934, Charles Percy Leo Jacques was just two weeks shy of his 88th birthday.

Leo is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 67 years, Ruth Jacques (nee Ralph). This unforgettable man was loved by his children, Noella Cada (deceased), Darrell Jacques (Maria), Brenda Tomini (Tony), Lee Jacques (Fern) and Victoria Jacques (Kevin Whitehead). Remembered by Craig Bouchard. Leo is loved and missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces and so many family friends. Leo was the proud son of the late Isadore Sr. and Eva Jacques. He shared an exceptional friendship with his brother Isidore Jacques Jr. and his sister in-law Claire Jacques (both deceased). Predeceased by his brothers-in-law John, Earl, Ken, Jim, Dean, Gerry, Aubrey and Dale Ralph.

Leo and Ruth had that “one of a kind” love story, they were so happy just being together. Leo loved his life, family gatherings, music, sports and he always welcomed visits from family and friends. He was a kind and loving father, who also had a gifted sense of humor. No words can convey the loss we all feel, he was just “everybody’s number one”.

We would like to thank Dr. Brooke Edwards for her genuine support and expertise and the great nurses and staff at Grey Bruce Health Services. We are grateful to the Chapman House Hospice staff and volunteers for their support and kindness during Leo’s final days.

There will be a celebration of life held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 189, Blind River on Monday, September 26th, 2022. The family will be present to receive visitors from 1-3:00 p.m. and from 7-9:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chapman House Hospice - Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce at https://www.greybrucehospice.com/ would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent to Leo’s family by visiting his memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
