Many people will remember her as "Rosie" the bus driver, but to us she was Mom and Grandma. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose Mary Johnston at the age of 81.
Loving wife of the late Gary. Loving Mother of Bernie (Leah), Gary (Bonnie) and Shelley Currie (Brad). Proud Grandmother of Bernie, Caitlyn, Jacob, Ryan, Heather Reattoir (Kyler), Nathan Currie, Marissa Currie and the late Matthew Currie. Great-Grandmother of four. Rosie was daughter of the late Emma and Tony Greco. Sister of the late Patricia, Anthony, Benny, Alex, Guy, Gus and survived by her sister, Gilda (Rick).
Rosie drove school bus for 32 years, she loved all of her kids and was blessed to drive their kids, as they got older. She had so much fun with all the students, sports teams, Bandettes, and trips to Mackinaw Island on her bus. She was the cool busdriver with her stereo, candy jar, and hugs for everyone. She would proudly display pictures of her family on the visors on the bus for all to see. If you knew Rosie, you would hear her coming a mile away. Rosie has touched the lives of so many people, she will be sadly missed.
As per Rosie's wishes, a private family service will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
