1953-2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lynn Ivan Kent at the age of 70 at Sault Area Hospital on Monday, July 31st, 2023 with his wife and daughters by his side.

Beloved husband of Jane for 47 years. Proud father of Jennifer, Hillary and Tricia and proudest grandpa to Chase, Pierce and Reid. Cherished son of Harold and the late Edith Kent and son in law to the late Gerald (Bucky) and Ellen King. Dear brother of Glen (Shirley), Arlene (Dan), Brenda (Steve), and Cindy (Sandy) and brother in law to the late Albert (Linda), Wayne (Carol), Ross (Linda), late Joe and late Sam. Loved by many, nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends. Long time friend to Philip, Larry and the guys at the Stag-er Inn.

Lynn led a very full life. Growing up and remaining on Maple Ridge Farm following in his father's footsteps. He owned his own construction company Lynn Kent Construction. Also, a long time Maple Syrup producer keeping Kent Bros. running for over 100 years. He also enjoyed playing the bagpipes for the 49th Field Regiment for many years. He was a Royal Canadian Legion member of Branch 374 for 45 years. Until recently he was on the board for Algoma Mutual Insurance and currently was the President for the Matthews Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Royal Canadian Legion on St. Joseph Island on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 10 am to 12 noon.  A graveside service to follow at the Richards Landing cemetery. 
Rev. Faye Stevens officiating. The family invites everyone to return to the Legion for a luncheon after the service.  In lieu of flowers donations (payable by cheque) to the Matthews Memorial Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

We would like to thank the many Nurses and Dr. Crawford at Matthews Memorial Hospital also the Nurses and Doctors at Sault Area Hospital. Special thank you to the ICU Nurses and Doctors at SAH.
