It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosalia at the FJ Davey Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 the age of 92.
Cherished wife of her late husband Joseph. She was born in Croatia, travelled to Austria, on to Venezuela, finally settling in Sault Ste. Marie in 1958. Daughter of her late parents Ivan and Helena (nee Tullner) Zadravec. Sister of the late George, late wife Carmela, and late brother Ivitza. Dear mother of Joseph (Susan), Renata (late Barry). Grandmother to Andrew, Sarah, Danielle, Tanya and Michelle. Great grandmother to Karen, Emily, Samantha, Sydney, Jacob, Tyler and Bronson.
Rosa was a woman of many talents. She was an expert seamstress, sewing for her children and grandchildren. Her baking was done to perfection, especially her tortes and Christmas baking, which she made for loved ones. She loved her flower gardens, mostly the roses which her husband grew and even grafted for her. She participated in the Sault’s Croatian Kolo Club. She danced, sang and even sewed some of their beautiful traditional dresses. Her husband Joe’s passion was the Croatian Soccer Club which he formed here in the Sault. She supported him always, sewing many of the crests on the uniforms and even washing the uniforms during the early years of the Club. Rosa and Joe made many trips to southern Ontario to visit with family and friends. They also enjoyed their travels to Texas. She will be missed by many. A private family service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Joseph.
