Peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the F. J. Davey Home at the age of 104.  Beloved wife of the late Nicholas (2001) of Smooth Rock Falls.  Loving mother of Louise Bichler (Josef ) and late Danny (late Emily).  Dear Baba of Paul Bichler, Heidi Bichler (Brian Yost), Jonathan Kit (Donna) and great-grandmother of Nicholas and Nathan Kit.  Predeceased by her parents James Rose and Stella DeNezza, and her siblings Domenica Grassi (Domenic), Dan Rose (Florinda), Michael Rose, Joseph Rose, Tony Rose (Lillian), Mary Kruchkowsky (Roman), Felix Rose.  Fondly remembered by over 100 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews!  Sister-in-law of Rose Kit (late Deacon John Kit).  Predeceased by brothers and sister-in-laws Hrenko Kit (late Katerena), Dr. Paul Kit (late Natalka), Major Jerry Kit (late Vera), and Julia Yaremovich (late Mike). Josephine was born in Cochrane, Ontario in 1914.  She moved with her husband Nick to Smooth Rock Falls in 1940.  During her life she worked as a reporter.  She wrote stories of Smooth Rock Falls for the Northern Times Newspaper for nearly 20 years.  Josephine moved to Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 93 and resided at Pathways Retirement Residence and until recently at the F.J. Davey Home. Josephine will be remembered for her strong spirit and personality, her commitment to her family and friends, and for her untiring devotion to her church and her community.  Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel – (492 Wellington St. E. – 705-795-2522) from 6pm to 8 pm on Friday, January 25, 2019.  Funeral Mass at Precious Blood Cathedral (778 Queen St. E.) Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 am.  Father Emmanuel Zinsu officiating.  Spring interment at Smooth Rock Falls Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made payable by cheque or online to SAH – Cancer Care Fund www.becauseiccare.com, Smooth Rock Falls Hospital Foundation www.srfhosp.ca , F.
