Third Generation of Chief Shingwauk
After a brief battle with cancer, Mom was surrounded by her loving family when she was called home on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the age of 83. Greeted with opened arms by 'the greatest mother in the world' and her dad 'Pa' and her loving husband Leonard who can now pamper her eternally and also her grandson Joshua. Mom will be greatly missed by her children Gayle (Terry), Janice, James (Michelle), Kevin, Sherri (Richard) and her much loved grandchildren Lori (Mike), Chris (Nancy), Lynda (Mike), Adrian (Paula), Tammy (Jeff), Colette (James), James, Jonah (Cindy), Alicia, and much more love given to her by her great grandchildren Joshua (Tara), Jordan, Noah (Tiana), Luke, Dylan, Matthew, Taiya, Draidyn, Zoey, Keegan, Jaycee-Lyn, Madison, Kaylob, Ridge, Oceanne, Chayce, Aurora, Alexie, Ryerson, Tristan, Amelia and Bentley. She will be dearly missed by her sisters and brothers Dan (late Yvonne), Doreen (Bud), Beverley (Bernard), Edith (John), Gail (late Stan), Willard (Marie), Morley (Marlene) and predeceased by Gertie and Stan, Betty and George, Donna and Bert, and her baby sister Joanne. She will be dearly missed by her sister in law Shirley Kitts of Calgary, Alberta and Shirley Anne Robb-Aikins of Barrie, ON. Adored by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Her many friends whom she met on her living journey will miss her greatly. All who knew Mom, knew her love of shopping. Geraldine’s family is very grateful for the care and compassion given by the many caregivers on 3A at the Sault Area Hospital. Friends may visit at the Garden River Community Centre beginning at 1 pm Wednesday, June 13th, 2018 until time of service on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 at 1 pm. Lana Grawbarger officiating ,Willard Pine providing spiritual support and Bishop Anne Germond. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions to the Cancer Care Clinic at the Sault Area Hospital or to the Dan Pine Healing Lodge would be appreciated by the family.
