Heinz Kresin passed away quietly at his home amongst his devoted family on the evening of Friday, December 6, 2002. He leaves behind his wife, Carole and sons Chris (Jennifer) and Michael. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Trudy Beck and his brother Peter (Jackie), niece Erica Kresin (Daryl Furber), nephew Peter John Kresin (Jessica) and best friend Horst Christian (Irmgard). Heinz was born in 1943 in wartime Vienna, Austria and came to Canada with his mother and brother in 1953. They lived in Timmins and Elliot Lake. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the University of Guelph and his Masters in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Heinz was Regional Engineer for Ontario Water Resources Commission, opening the Sault Ste. Marie offices in 1970. He became Regional Engineer for the Ministry of Natural Resources in 1973 and opened Kresin Engineering and Planning Limited in 1978.
