LA RUE, Joseph George 'Leo'

Passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, at the age of 88.  Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rosalie La Rue.  Beloved husband of Diane for 62 years.  Proud father of Michael (Mary), Paul (Carol), Vicki Aiudi (Frank).  Cherished grandfather to Geoffrey (Dani), David (Kristi), Amy Jackson (Spencer), Leslie Brown (Alin), Gordon Moore (Lyvia), Leo (Jamie), Patrick.  Great grandfather to Max, Charli and Nicholas. Dear brother to the late Margureite Hipwell (late Jack), late Theresa Nelan (late Jack), late Pauline Ermatinges (Bob), Joe La Rue (late Colleen),  late John (late Vera) and late Jeanne Christie (late Erwin).  Brother-in-law to the late Gordon Lewis (Joanne) and Dorn Lewis (late Betty).  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Leo attended Sacred Heart School and Sault Collegiate Institute.  An active member of the Boat Club, Algo Club and the Duplicate Bridge Club.  An active man he enjoyed tennis, ping-pong, sculling and biking. Leo retired from Algoma Steel after 30 years in the sales department, after which he and Diane travelled extensively.  Leo will be sadly missed by all of his family.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Memorial service on Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. Luke's Anglican Cathedral at 11:00 a.m., The Very Rev. James McShane officiating. Entombment St. Luke's Cathedral Columbarium following the Service.  Memorial contributions to Parkinson's Foundation or St. Luke's memorial fund would be appreciated.
