Age 87 - Suddenly, at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, September 21, 2017, after a brief illness. Loving and cherished husband of Anita (Delayer) Langan for 62 years. Beloved father of Susan Desaulniers (Dwayne) of Boston MA, and Carolyn Langan (Jeff Huhta) Bolton ON. Grandfather to Evan Fauchere of Nutley, NJ.
Born in Sarnia in 1930. Son of the late Vera Alberta Tully and John Patrick Langan. Dear brother of Margaret Hummell of Sarnia and brother-in-law to Donald Delayer of Warkworth. Predeceased by brothers Mark Langan (Maxine), Patrick Langan (Margaret), sisters Veronica Roche (Richard), Marcella Palmer (Edward), sisters-in-law Collen Delayer, Noreen Scofield (Jack), and by brothers-in-law Douglas Delayer (Marion) and Robert Hummell.
Brian will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews with whom he enjoyed playing pool, cards and boisterous family celebrations. Brian was a resident of Sault Ste. Marie since 1970, he retired from Prudential Insurance in 1995. He contributed to the community though his membership in the Kiwanis Club and as a sides man at St. Luke’s Cathedral. During his retirement, Brian enjoyed Snooker at the Seniors Centre, travelling with his wife to visit their grandson, and time at home with family.
The Langan family would like to thank Dr. Patterson and the staff at the Sault area hospital for the excellent care they provided to Brian in his final days. Donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. A small private memorial service will be scheduled in the near future.
