September 14, 1967 – November 26, 2024

With shattered hearts we announce the tragic passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many, due to a motor vehicle collision, at the age of 57.

Forever partner, best friend and husband of Allison (nee Laine) Lawrence. Rock, protector, best friend and incredible father of Shane (Amy) and Rebecca Bin (Anthony). Bonus dad to Tyler Bell and Dylan Bell. Fun loving, adventurous, dedicated Grandpa and “forever hero” of Everett, Ellie, Aria and Larry. Forever in the hearts of his siblings Merl (Carole), Bonnie (late Chris) and Shirley. Casey will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both north and south of the Canadian border.

Casey was born and raised in Thessalon, he worked and raised his family here. He enjoyed all that the area had to offer. Early on, he was employed by the MTO eventually gaining work for the Town of Thessalon where he retired in 2022 at the age of 55. Shortly after retirement he began part time employment at Penokean Hills Farms.

Casey was an avid outdoorsman. He loved the fierce fishing competitions on Big Basswood with buddies Scott, Blair and the late Ray. He looked forward to his annual hunting trips with Gord, Chuck, Pat, Jeff and his right-hand man, Shane. He enjoyed his winter trips up to Seven Camp where booze, fish, movies (Seabiscuit) and tales were a major part of his life.

Casey was a dedicated and supportive family man. He travelled to Golden B.C. to share in the joy of his daughter Becca’s amazing wedding, giving her away atop of Kicking Horse Mountain. He always put his kids and grandkids first. He could be found on the riverbank for countless hours, with his grandkids baiting hooks, casting lines and removing snags.

He and Allison enjoyed travelling to tropical destinations with friends and family by their sides. He also loved going to concerts and cuttin’ a rug, especially with his beloved Ally at his side.

We will forever miss Casey’s smile, sound of his voice, witty humour, belting out of Journey songs, his big strong hands and his even bigger heart.

The family wishes to thank the first responders on the scene for their care and compassion during this difficult time; as well as friends and family for their support.

A celebration of Casey’s amazing life will be held at the Thessalon Curling Club, 120 Main Street, Thessalon on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1pm to 4pm.

If desired, donations in memory of Casey can be made to the Thessalon Curling Club Jr. Curlers, a fun spiel dedicated to his late mother Eileen Lawrence (Gram).
