LEACH, Laila Hellen

passed away in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday, September 27, 2003 in her 83rd year with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late George Meredith Leach. Loving mother of Judie Ratelle of Sault Ste. Marie, Barbara Kozlich (James) of Lively, Gary Mattinen (Anneli) of Redbridge. Daughter of the late Kauno and Hilma Lindala. Laila is predeceased by her brothers Fred and Toby Lindala. Proud Grandma of Dale (Anita), Wendy, Tanya, Amy and Tara Lynn. Great grandmother (Mummi) to David and Erin. Laila retired from Sault College after many years of teaching. She led by example, living a life full of light and love. By fostering dignity and a positive outlook she enriched her own life and the lives of those around her. We take with us her love of nature, intellect, inspiration and superb sense of humour. Her favourite saying was “This too shall pass”. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 from 6-9 pm. A remembrance of life service will take place in the chapel on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at 11 am. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Krister Ulmanis officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated. We would like to thank Dr. Pauline Bragaglia and staff at the Sault Area Hospital.
