Passed away peacefully and gently in his sleep at Extendicare Van Daele, Friday June 10, surrounded by love.
He is now reunited with his devoted wife Yvonne (Tremblay). Father of Brenda, Brian (Karen), and David (Geraldine). Loving Grandpa of Barry John (Samantha), Daniel, Michael and Matthew. Survived by his brother Omer "Gerry" (Carole) of Calgary and Janet Dollbeck (Dollorde) of Lively. Reunited again with his mother Lena Smith (Gordon) and father Oliver LeClair. Predeceased by his siblings Judy Keating (late Frank), Aline Girard (late Andy) and Anita Campbell (late Jim). Son-in-law of the late Pete and late Eva Tremblay. Brother-in-law of the late Harry, late Baptiste (Margaret), late Annie Warren (late Jack), late Jacqueline and late Mary Jane Goodall (late Raymond). Maurice will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Joined again with his dear friends Fern Thibodeau, Lyle Wiseman, Denis Desjardins and many others.
Heartfelt thanks does not seem enough to the devoted staff at Extendicare Van Daele Manor. From the nursing staff, RPN, PSW, housekeeping, Dietary, Activity Directors, Volunteers etc…they went above and beyond to make Dad’s environment comfortable and fun. Special mention to his beloved Ann and Kimberly and of course Todd, Marcie, Marissa, Cass, Brandy, Nancy and just so many more. We thank you. Dr. Rose-Marie Gieni took such good care of Dad . He was a challenge at times.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) on Tuesday June 14, 2022 between 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Funeral Service to take place in the Chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. Maurice will be laid to rest with his dear wife at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
