It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear sister Karen at the F. J. Davey Home on Friday, October 28, 2022.

She will be sadly missed by her brothers Ed Soo, Jim (Pat) Soo, Bill (Sharon) of Carleton Place, sister Judy (Brian) of Dartmouth and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving mother Betty, brothers Timothy, TJ and her husband Neil Levesque.

Karen loved life and was a great inspiration to the many who knew her. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, sitting around the table playing cards, reminiscing and occasionally enjoying a rum and coke.

Her enjoyment of music, had her singing along to oldies and goodies especially Tom Jones.  She attended several musicals over the years and she loved going to movies.  If there was any type of activity going on and Karen was able to attend then you could count her in.  When Karen was able, she would attend the Soo Greyhound games. She also loved the Boston Bruins but who are we to judge her favourite team!

Karen’s favourite day time soap was “The Young & the Restless”. She always joked that “Victor” was still alive after all these years. Her new interest in the past few years was “Harry Potter”.

Karen celebrated her 65th birthday this year wearing her favourite colour purple and enjoying a backyard barbecue courtesy of her friend Heather. It was the highlight of her summer.

Special thanks to the many staff of third floor Cedar, past and present and their great care of Karen that she called home over the past 12 years. She was always treated with dignity, respect and kindness by many whom she considered family.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be held next summer. Details to follow. Donations (payable by cheque or online in Karen’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice or the F.J. Davey Home Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Levesque family.
