A resident of Wallaceburg on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in his 70th year. Wayne was a retired Principal of W.T. Laing, D.A. Gordon and Victoria Park Elementary Schools. He is the son of the late Ernest and Eva (Campbell) Lidstone. Beloved husband of Sherrill Jean (Penny). Loving father and father-in-law of Greg and Lynn of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Penny Clift of Atlanta Georgia, Steve and Shelly of Penticton, B.C. and Robert and Ann of Wilmot Nova Scotia. Dear grandfather of Richard, Chris, Kathryn, Shanna, Angela, Spencer, Lexie and Daniela. Brother and brother-in-law of Calvin (Bud) and Pat Lidstone, Bob and Mary Penny, Barb Bround and George Smith. He will be missed by his 2 surviving aunts Anna Brown, Allison Hancock, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street (at Elgin) in Wallaceburg from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday. The Celebration of Wayne's life will be conducted by Diaconal Minister Cheryl Kirk on Saturday, August 13 at Trinity United Church at 11:00 a.m. Wayne's cremated remains will be interred at Jocelyn Cemetery, St. Joseph's Island at a later date.
