Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, with his family by his side on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 92. Cecil is now reunited with the love of his life, Earla (nee Keating) who he missed dearly. Cherished Dad of Arthur (Tracy), Kevin (late Cheryl), Darla Pirillo (Jim) and Darrell (Nancy). Much loved Grandpa of Jordan (Greg), Cassidy, Nicholas (Carrie), Brandon (Amanda), Shane (Terri), Michael Pirillo (Ashley), Anthony Pirillo (Naomi), Joshua (Nicole), Dylan (Jessie), Nicholas (Olivia) and Jacob (Brittany). Great Grandpa of Hannah, Adalynn, Cheyenne, Abigail Pirillo and Hailey. Dear brother of Les, late Gladys and late Ralph (Lola).
Cecil lived a full life and touched the lives of many throughout the years, and always made sure to create wonderful memories or "golden moments" with everyone. His circle of friends, which included his children's friends, grew throughout the years. One of Cecil's defining qualities was his sense of humour, often catching people off guard with his comments and teasing. He loved music, snowmobiling, boating and large gatherings with family and friends at camp or at their home in the Soo. Not only was Cecil a positive role model to his children, but he dedicated many years as a founding member of the Sault Trailblazers Snowmobile Club. He will be deeply missed and his spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
Our sincere gratitude to the compassionate healthcare providers who cared for our Dad over the past two and a half months at the Sault Area Hospital on 3C, 2B and ICU departments. A special thank you to Dr. Tull, his primary care physician and Dr. Kurniawan for taking care of him over the past several years. Friends may visit the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522) on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 11 am until 1:30 pm. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 2 pm. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to Sault Area Hospital Foundation.
