It is with profound sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Michele on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in his 90th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Erminia for 68 years. Loving father of Franca DiLollo (late Rocco), Umberto Maida and Gina Cicchelli (Nat). Proud Nonno of Rachela DiBerardino (Paul), Lori Lazzari (Michael), Ben Cicchelli and Michael Cicchelli. Special Bisnonno of Isabella & Lucas DiBerardino and Matthew & Gabriella Lazzari. Predeceased by his parents Umberto and Tommasina Maida. Dear brother of the late Nicola Maida and Michelina Torquato (late Aurelio). Brother-in-law of Michele Ianni (late Lina)(Gina), Giuseppe Ianni (Fiorella) and the late Giuseppina Marasco (late Nicola). Special Zio of Pat Torquato (Brenda), Marie Kim (Bill). Michele will be missed by his many other nieces, nephews and extended family. Son-in-law of the late Francesco Ianni (late Lisa) (late Finita). Michele was a passionate gardener who took great pride in his home and family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and their many accomplishments. He sacrificed along with his wife Erminia to always make a better life for his children. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Precious Blood Cathedral on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Hamish Currie officiating. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to Dr. Mario Febbraro for the many years of care. Thank you to Dr. Mark Jenkins and his secretary Denise, Steve at CCAC and Emerg Staff at the SAH especially Dr. DeFabbio and nurses Kelly and Jen. The excellent care and compassion Michele received will always be appreciated and remembered.
