(February 2, 1926 – September 14, 2019) – Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Van Daele with her family by her side at the age of 93 years. Mafalda is now reunited with the love of her life, Domenico. Cherished and best mother of Elio Marandola (Marisa), Teresa Marandola (Dan Seabrook), Anna Tees (Bill), Susie Verdelli (Peter) and Domenic Marandola (Janice Belanger). Loving Nonni of Christina Marandola (Deni Consoli), Justin Marandola (Karrah), Sheri Medaglia (Quinto), Jamie Evans (Aaron), Marco Policicchio (Lisa Hayes), Stacey Watson (Jon), Jordan Verdelli (Joselyn), Josh Verdelli and Brandon Marandola. Wonderful Great Nonni of Everly Marandola, Abby and Lucas Medaglia, Erin and Liam Evans, Harrison and Elizabeth Policicchio and Maya and Jenna Watson. Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Assunta Testa and her mother and father-in-law Vincenzo and Arcangela Marandola. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Teresina (Giovanni), Pia (Luigi), Ricardo (Angelina), Elivira (Antimo), Amerigo (Eleonora) and Maria (Giuseppe). Sister-in-law of the late Luigi Marandola (late Dolorinda), late Eugenio Marandola (late Concetta), Anna Dallesdandro (late Emilio), Giuseppe Marandola (late Carmela), Maria DePetrillo (Angelo), late Alberto Marandola (Maria Carmena), late Giovanni Marandola (late Lina) and Antonio Marandola (Maria). Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Extendicare Van Daele. A special mention to Andrea, Marci, Kelly and Kimberly for your compassion and care of our mother. Friends and family are invited to join us to celebrate Mafalda’s life at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, September 19. 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 noon with Father Paul Conway officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie or Van Daele Residents Program would be appreciated.
