It is with sadness we announce that Carmen passed away peacefully at ARCH on February 26, 2022 holding her daughter Melissa's hand. She is now reunited with the love of her life Frank Marcil.
A loving mother who provided, protected and gave everything to her children, Melissa, Jamie and Robbie. Special Nana of Talon and Brooklyn. Predeceased by her parents, Madeline (Maddo) and Alfred (Lanoie) and predeceased by her siblings, Diana, Denise, Evelyn, Celine, Roger, Bernie and Lionel.
Carmen loved life and adventure, being active whether it was biking, sea-dooing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or as an avid animal lover, out walking with her rescue dogs. She loved to garden and had quite the green thumb, she always made home-cooked meals for her family and loved hosting dinners and gatherings. Carmen loved to travel and spent a lot of time in Cuba, one of her favourite destinations. She was a warrior fighting cancer but did it with grace and stubbornness. She was still smiling and laughing even through her battle. Her infectious laughter and smile will always be remembered.
At Carmen's request there will be no funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to ARCH or because of her love of animals to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society.
Thank you to the staff, nurses, PSWs, and volunteers at ARCH for taking such good care of her during her stay. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). www.northwoodfuneral.com
