MASSON, Roderick Gerald 'Jerry'

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Jerry Masson passed away suddenly in his home at the age of 83.

Son of the late Donald and Theda Masson (nee Vanscoy).

He is survived by his brother John (Patti) as well as his sisters Kathy Slezak (Peter) and Teri. Predeceased by his siblings Bob (Mary Francis) and Sharon.

Dear uncle of Rob (Suzanne), Lisa (James), Jenn (Dennis) and Mackenzie.

Jerry lived his whole life in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He loved being close to the Great Lakes and especially the Great Lake Ships. He worked 30 years for Algoma Steel and volunteered 28 years with the St. Mary’s Marine Society, where he was on the board of directors for the St. Mary’s Marine Centre, and throughout his time held the position of President, Vice-President and Treasurer.

Jerry was a simple and patient man. He never smoked, drank or had any conviction, not even a parking ticket. He happily lived the single life. He will be missed by many people in Sault Ste. Marie.
