We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Paquerette Mathieu, born St-Denis. Paquerette passed peacefully with her loving family by her side in her home community of Blind River at the age of 71.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Gaston of 53 years. She will be greatly missed by her children Roger (Annie), Sylvain (Kerry), Melanie (Stephane), Cristine Membury (Aaron) and Claudia. Cherished grand-mother of Mia, Ashley, Chanel, Zach, Dominik, Danika, Cody, Kyanna, Kyle, Sophie, Xavier, Isabelle, Francis and Nicolas and great grand-mother of Henley and Kinsley.
Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Eva St-Denis as well as her brothers Gaetan and Raymond. Fondly remembered by siblings Gilles (Marie), Lisette Stronghill (Eddy), Ghislain (late Nicole), Monique Gaulin, Renald (Vivian), Gabriel (Micheline), Gisele Vaillancourt (Andre) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paquerette took great pride in being an active member in her community. She was involved at Paroisse Ste-Famille and enjoyed volunteering at the local food bank. She was a member of Le Club Richelieu. She and Gaston always looked forward to packing up the RV and travelling south during the winter months. We will always remember her sense of humour, strength, determination and love of family.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at NSHN-Blind River for their care and compassion.
Family and friends are invited to join the family in celebrating and remembering the life of Paquerette on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Paroisse Ste-Famille, Blind River beginning at 1 o’clock, followed by a gathering for a light snack and refreshments.
The family shares that any donations made will be distributed to the Club Richelieu and the Blind River food bank.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre bien-aimée, Paquerette Mathieu, née St-Denis. Elle est décédée en paix avec sa famille à ses côtés, dans sa communauté de Blind River à l'âge de 71 ans.
Paquerette laisse derrière elle Gaston, son époux depuis 53 ans. Elle sera manquée énormément par ces enfants Roger (Annie), Sylvain (Kerry), Mélanie (Stéphane), Cristine Membury (Aaron) et Claudia. Chère grand-maman à Mia, Ashley, Chanel, Zach, Dominik, Danika, Cody, Kyanna, Kyle, Sophie, Xavier, Isabelle, Francis et Nicolas, et arrière grand-maman à Henley et Kinsley.
Prédécédée par ses parents, Ernest et Eva St-Denis, ainsi que ses frères Gaétan et Raymond. Ses frères et sœurs, Gilles (Marie), Lisette Stronghill (Eddy), Ghislain (feu Nicole), Monique Gaulin, Renald (Vivian), Gabriel (Micheline), Gisèle Vaillancourt (André) et plusieurs nièces et neveux seront peinés par son départ.
Paquerette as toujours été active dans sa communauté. Elle était impliquée dans la Paroisse Ste-Famille et était bien fière de faire du travail bénévole pour la banque alimentaire locale. Elle a été longtemps membre du Club Richelieu. Paquerette et Gaston avait toujours hâte de voyager dans le sud dans leur motorisé pour s’échapper du grand froid en hiver. Nous allons toujours nous souvenir de son humour, de sa détermination, de ses forces, et de son amour pour sa famille.
Nous remercions les infermières, les docteurs et le personnelles à NSHN-Blind River pour leur soin et leur compassion.
Vous êtes invité à joindre la famille afin de célébrer et de se souvenir de la vie de Paquerette ce vendredi, le 6 mai à la Paroisse Ste-Famille de Blind River, à 13h, suivi par un petit gouter ensemble.
La famille vous invite à faire un don qui seront distribué à la banque alimentaire et au Club Richelieu de Blind River.
