Passed away peacefully at Sault Area Hospital with family by his side on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the age of 85. Cherished husband of Rita Matte for 62 years. Loving father to Yvon (Sharon), Ghislaine Blais (Terry), Solange Rushon (Fred), Yvette and Ronald (Michelle). Proud Pépère to Yvonne (Joe), Dean (Heather), Deana (Ben), Shawn, Erin (Frank), Craig, Emma, Dylan, Jasmine, Destiney, Brady, Serenity. Great Pépère to Taylor, Justin, Krista (Travis), Jordan-Lee, Noah, Liam, Alex, Rowen, Dredyn and Blake. Son of the late Phillias and late Marie Matte. Brother of Rose (Raymond), William, Joe, Roger and predeceased by 8. Son-in-law of the late Joseph and late Magella Larocque. Brother-in-law of Joseph, Gisele (late Germain), Rolande (Lawrence), Anita (Maurice), Yolande and predeceased by 6. Gerry will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. – 705-759-2522) on Monday, March 19, 2018 between 10:30 – 12:30 pm.
