It is with profound sadness that the family of Luc Matteau announce his passing on December 7, 2023 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Linda of 44 years and their three daughters Mary (Phil) James, Julie Cooper and Lisette (Adam) McMillan. He was overjoyed to be a loving grandfather to Morris and Nina Cooper and Dax and Quinn McMillan. So very loved and will be missed by his mother Madeleine Matteau and predeceased by his father Gerard Matteau. Survived by his siblings who will miss him dearly Paul (Gunilla) Matteau, Jacques (Carol) Matteau, Michel (Donna) Matteau and Therese (Harold) Sit. Dear brother-in-law to Patty Wilson (predeceased by Gary Wilson), Sidney (Pam) Wilson, Debbie (Andrew) Spironello and Lloyd (Rose) Wilson. Loving uncle and great-uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Luc was extremely sociable and loved meeting new people. His large community of friends will miss him and remember him fondly.

Luc graduated from Queens University in 1969 as an electrical engineer. He was an involved member of associated professional bodies, including IEEE & APEO. He was also an active member of the church and Knights of Columbus (4th degree).

Funeral mass will be held on January 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 386 Rogers St. Peterborough. This will be followed by interment and a celebration of life reception at Highland Park, 2510 Bensfort Rd. Peterboorugh. In memory of Luc, donations can be made to the Immaculate Conception Parish Accessibility Projects or to a charity of your choice.
