Peacefully, after a courageous battle on December 25, 2003 at the age of 61 years. Most beloved companion and best friend of Matilda Addison. Son of the late Mel and Vera Matthews. Most loving father of Janet Cote (T.J) of Sault Ste. Marie, and Joanne Matthews (Dave) of Red Lake Ontario. Dear brother of Ray (Audrey), Nan Crema (Al) all of Sault Ste. Marie and Ruth-Anne Fleury (Claude) of Temiscaming, Quebec. Cherished grandpa of Charlotte, Jean-Marc and Matthew. Gerald will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday December 29, 2003 from 6-9 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday December 30, 2003 at 11 am with Lana Grawbarger officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Palliative Care or to the Oncology Unit would be appreciated by the family.
