It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Luigi Mauro on Sunday, January 30, 2022  at the age of 79 years.

He was the devoted and caring husband of Mirella for 50 years. Loving and devoted father of Lisa Paradiso (Andy) and Nancy Williamson (Jeff). Proud Nonno of Cameron, Connor and Sophie. Son of the late Luigi and Serafina Mauro. Dear brother of Tony (late Guiseppina), late Michele (Franca), late Vince (Elda) and late Frank (Giovanna). Son-in-law of the late Michele and Rosaria Fisico. Brother-in-law of Pat Fisico (Wendy), Rita Casey (Vince) and Lina Parise (John). He was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Luigi was born on March 24, 1942 in Paterno Calabro, Italy. He will forever be remembered as a strong, hard working and kind man who always put his family first. He began working as a baker at Bluebird and Rossi's bakery and then became a long time employee at St. Mary's Paper. Luigi always kept busy with his favourite hobbies. He enjoyed walking, wine and sausage making, gardening and watching the Edmonton Oilers. He was the happiest when he was spending time with his grandchildren who were the center of his world.

The family would like to thank the good samaritan that stopped to help Luigi and the EMS services for their care.

Private family funeral service will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (Payable by cheque or online) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Mauro family.

Rest in peace, until we meet again... Forever in our hearts.
Tiamo Sempre.
